Saints Row 4 Online
Saints Row IV is an open world murderbox full of entertaining, mindless distractions which are better enjoyed with a friend. It features two player co-op via online connection or system link. There's always a few extra co-op details to work out in a game like this so we made this handy Co-Op FAQ. The co-op works the same as in Saints Row: The Third. If you're familiar with that title, you know what you're getting into.

There are also a couple of settings you can fine-tune in the pause menu's Co-op Settings options to prevent unwanted behaviour from your co-op partner. By default, co-op sessions are open to all once you take your game online, and you might find a matchmade stranger dropping in unannounced at any time; but you can change the Session Privacy setting to "Friends Only" or "Invite Only" to control who can join you and when, if you prefer.
The game is played from a third-person view and its open world is navigated on-foot or by vehicle. Players can fight enemies using a variety of firearms and other tools, and call in non-playable gang members to assist them. Similarly to previous Saints Row titles, players control the gang's leader, nicknamed "the Boss", who features highly customizable traits. Outside of the main story, players can freely explore Santo Illeso and engage in several different side activities. A cooperative online multiplayer mode is also included, allowing two players to play through the single-player campaign together while progressing in their own game.
Post the upgrade, all other versions of the game will be delisted from online platforms and will no longer be usable. However, saves and achievements will be moved over, letting players pick up where they left off. This update also allows PC users to play with others that have purchased the game on different storefronts like Epic Games Store and GOG.

The more popular a game is, the more frequent the number of players online can change as new players start and others end their gaming session. Special announcements by Deep Silver Volition, CD Projekt, High Voltage Software, G5 Entertainment, or Sperasoft Studio, LLC, developers of the game, or tournaments by famous players can affect how many people are playing Saints Row right now.
Saints Row needs to do two main things if it stands any chance of actually being a success: it needs to have a robust and fantastic online infrastructure and it needs to double down on the absurd. It can't just do that, though, because we can always play those old games if we want the absurd. Or play Grand Theft Auto Online. It also needs to forge its own identity and not just be a cringe-fest.
In the end, Saints Row might be all about the god-darn bizarreness, but it's also about the gameplay itself and its ability to tell a fun story. If they combine that with an excellent online experience then how they hell could they not be successful? Well, considering that Grand Theft Auto Online is literally all of the things that I just described... yeah, it's an uphill battle.
